Abiy a Dictator who won a Peace Laureate!

A year that Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed won the Nobel Peace Prize, his army ‘shot a man dead because the phone rang’ – Amnesty International. It testifies also how three other victims were taken out of police cells and shot dead.

“his decisive initiative to resolve the border conflict with neighboring Eritrea,” resulting in a peace deal they hope “will help to bring about positive change for the entire populations of Ethiopia and Eritrea.” Norwegian Nobel Committee gives 2019.

The Nobel Committee hopes that it still can, and relies on the assumption that the conflict was the main obstacle to peace in Eritrea and Ethiopia. However,  reforms or improvements in Eritrea following the peace agreement. The borders that were briefly opened were quickly closed.

Premier Dictator Abiy claims to foster a sense of national unity in the face of ethnically divided Ethiopia but also wants to celebrate that diversity.
